Reverse osmosis kills 100% of microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria, and up to 99% of solid suspensions, including salt, if the membrane is of high quality. Automatic pressure is applied to allow water to flow through a semi-permeable membrane that traps all solids larger than 0.0009 microns. Reverse osmosis thus not only releases wastewater, but also neutralizes it. UV water systems effectively eliminated all microorganisms by altering cell structure. Deactivated microorganisms do not harm humans. Most UV systems base on a combination of ultraviolet purification and filtration.
